Leslie Lancelot Hardy Moore was born in Norwich in 1907. He studied at Reading University and Norwich School of Art where he later taught general subjects in junior art department, also holding a teaching position at the Hewett School Norwich.
He was a member of the “Norwich Twenty group” and the “Norfolk and Norwich Art Circle” exhibiting from 1935-1961 also with the “Royal Institute of Painters”(RI) of which he was elected a member and exhibiting at the “Royal Academy”(RA) from 1948, the “New English Art Club”(NEAC) and various other Exhibitions in London and the provinces.
Leslie Moore lived at North Walsham, Norfolk specialising in water-colours of East Anglian landscape and many of his paintings were used to illustrate books and other publications, ‘Norwich Inns’ being one of the books he illustrated.
